Clever idea: Mushrooms are a lean protein source as they have zero cholesterol, fats and very low carbohydrates. Never peel mushrooms as most of the vitamin B12 (the energy superstar) is present on their surface. To this yummy sauce, add some freshly chopped parsley for colour and flavour. Serve over pasta, rice or even a baked potato.
Loved the creaminess and ease of this recipe. I added diced red capsicum, carrot, and broccoli to mine. Being lactose intolerant I used lactose free cream cheese instead of the cooking cream, but 150g only. This is such a versatile recipe. It is my go to when I need a cream sauce for a recipe.
