Country Ribs

Serves 4 serves


  • 1kg pork spare ribs
  • 2 large onions sliced
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • cups smokey BBQ sauce


  • Put the ribs, 2 teaspoons of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of pepper in a large saucepan.
  • Cover with water and bring to the boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes. Drain.
  • Add the onions, garlic and sauce and stir to completely coat.
  • Preheat oven 180C. Line two baking trays with baking paper.
  • Remove the ribs to the baking trays, spoon over excess sauce, cover with foil and cook for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
