Budgie Balls

Serves 24 balls


  • 1/2 cup bird seed
  • 1/2 cup organic oats
  • 1/2 cup wholemeal flour
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 cup raw honey


  • Heat the oven to 180°C.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper
  • Add the bird seed, flour, and oats to a small bowl and mix well.
  • Add water and honey and mix to form a dough.
  • Using a teaspoon, roll into 24 even-sized balls.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until starting to brown slightly.
  • Cool completely and store in an air-tight container
  • These freeze perfectly, remember they are a treat so no more than 1 ball, twice a week.

Recipe Notes

Optional: Finely chop and add any of your budgies (canaries or lovebirds) favourite fruits, vegetables or nuts to the mix.
